平泉の文化的・思想的系譜を「理想郷の創出」という視点から、学際的な研究方法でそれを東アジアの古代文化である仏教・儒教・ 神仙思想と比較検討していきます。
◆岩手県教育委員会等の諸団体と連携し、科学的解析手法を取り入れながら研究を進め、積極的に研究成果の社会還元を行っていきます。
◆12世紀の状態をそのままにとどめる平泉の庭園や遺跡群をとりあげ、従来仏教的な「浄土庭園」として扱われてきた苑池構成の深層に潜む儒教・道教文化等の諸相に注目します。
◆そして平泉の文化的・思想的系譜を「理想郷の創出」という視点から学際的な研究方法で東アジアの古代文化である仏教・儒教・ 神仙思想と比較検討していきます。
■Project Plans
From the viewpoint of the lineage of Hiraizumi culture and thought as the “Creation of Utopia,” we will carry out an academic investigation by comparing it to Buddhist, Confucian, and Taoist concepts from ancient East Asian culture.
◆Through cooperation with various groups, including the Iwate Board of Education, we will carry out research using scientific analytical methods and actively make use of research results for the benefit of society.
◆We will look into Hiraizumi gardens and remains which have retained traces of their original state from the 12th Century, focusing on various aspects of Confucian and Tao culture that lie deeply hidden in the structure of garden with pond, which has been recognized over the years as the Buddhist pure-land garden.
◆Then, from the viewpoint of the lineage of Hiraizumi culture and thought being the “Creation of Utopia,” we will carry out an academic investigation through comparison to Buddhist, Confucian, and Taoist concepts from ancient East Asian culture.
